Hi,
I'm using Thunderbird 2.0.0.19, and it's telling me that I'm at 98% of my mailbox quota. I'm using college email with Thunderbird as the "go-between," so to speak. I tried deleting a bunch of old messages in my Trash folder (3 months worth), and although they disappeared, it still tells me I'm at 98%. What do I do about this? And what happens when I run out of room?
Thanthunderbird 2.0.0.19ks!
The quota is on the mail server not Thunderbird. Delete some old e-mails you no longer need.
Are you using IMAP or POP to access your college email?
If you're using IMAP, just delete the messages.
I suspect you're using POP, though, since deleting doesn't seem to free up space. You have a few options:
1. Change your POP configuration so it does not leave messages othunderbird 2.0.0.19n the server but downloads them to your computer (the downside to this is that you won't be able to see your email messages from any other computer).
2. Log into the server directly (instead of using Thunderbird as an email client) and delete the messages.
3. Switch from POP to IMAP and delete the messages.
