why does a person yawnIf one person yawns, why does everyone around that person yawn as well?

i know someone asked why do we yawn, but i think tis it a better question!
Peer Pressure.

Hehe. Actually, the question is out there, all over the place, and there isn't a proven, definitive answer. My theory? Glad you asked... it's evolutionary. Either it was a way to trigger us, as a group (back when we hung out in groups, instead of shacked up in a dark room watching YouTube all day), that it was time to rest, or it had something to do with baring teeth, trying to intimidate or scare off a neighboring or approaching group (again, when we used to mwhy does a person yawnove in herds, back in the Dark Ages, like 1950). Great question. **Yawn** I think I'll scare someone into sleeping with me. ;)

Wait, why'd I get a thumbs-down??? Jealous bastards!!! :):)
it seems to be an instinctive, pavloivan response in human beings. "myth busters" devoted an entire episode to this question:) they did experiments with controls and everything.
very interesting.
Psychologist say that yawning is contagious.

I've always said that yawwhy does a person yawnns are contagious. I think it's a psychological thing.
It's a reflex to a display of aggression. Opening your mouth as wide as you can and showing your teeth, and the red of your mouth is intended to be a warning to "stay back". It's a reflex you can't control, left over from several thousand years ago when we were less than human. You can see this in action at the monkey house, too.
its in your head
i can stop yawning when i doing it but
its hard sometimes it doesnt work
